A traditional pub offering a variety of real ales

We pride ourselves on an ever varying selection of real ales, spirits and non alcholic drinks.

Nestled among the Victorian terraces, this traditional back street pub has two open fires.

In the rear section is a pool table, a classic retro Space Invaders machine, and a Lincolnshire dartboard.

The bike racks in the parking lot are reminiscent of steampunk, and the quirky  fencing in the beer garden continue the theme.

The fencing is made up of old joiners tools donated by the regulars and the local community.

We do have a model Lancaster on the roof!

Tuesday is quiz night, and every month there’s air rifle target shooting, an open mic night every other Saturday and LIVE music in the week.

Students welcome and warm greetings to our four-legged friends who can have a tasty treat from the bar.

CAMRA - Campaign-for-real-ale

Lincoln Branch Pub of the Year Award – 2024

A judging panel, made up of CAMRA members, visited various pubs in the Lincoln area and scored them against a criteria used in the national Pub of the Year competition.

In addition to beer quality, these criteria include décor, service, cleanliness, community focus and alignment with CAMRA principles.

Hidden Gem
Complete gem of a pub, tucked away in Lincoln - the absolute best stop on the (otherwise mostly disappointing) Ale Trail. Cosy with comfy nooks, or a charming outside area, great beer, great atmosphere and very friendly. Could quite easily have spent hours and hours here.

Proper Boozer
A proper pub-pub - good beer, pool, darts, plenty of seating inside and a small yard out the back for the smokers!

One of the best pubs in Lincoln
One of the best pubs I have been to in 10 years. The 5 of us (school friends) were on a jolly to Lincoln for 4 nights when we visited this brilliant pub. It was as if we had gone back in time to the 1930's. Two lovely fires burning bright and delicious beer. No music and no raucous crowds - we had escaped from the hullabaloo in the High street with its bouncers and jammed pubs. This is an oasis of calm.

Friendly pub with games facilities
The joiners during the week appear to be fairly quiet in the evenings. Locals are friendly and happy to talk to strangers. I was lucky to visit on a Tuesday evening when there was a quiz happening which more or less everyone joined in for. The bar staff and customers are all friendly and willing to chat or leave you to yourself. Real ales are well kept and there is a wide range of other drinks. Unfortunately, food is not served, so it's a good place to visit after you have lined your stomach.

Good Pub
On visiting I/we found that the premises had recently been redecorated and much improved since our last visit. These sort of local pubs are hard to find and should be supported. There is an excellent range of Pheasantry ales.
